After high school, she joined St. Cloud State University and competed in NCAA Division II softball during her college years. Career

Her first major coaching job was at North Dakota State University (NDSU), where she began as an assistant and later became co-head coach. At NDSU, Jamie helped the Bison achieve several trips to the NCAA tournament. Her focus on strong defense and being mentally tough helped her shape a winning culture at the school.

In 2017, Jamie was hired to be the head coach at Iowa State University. Despite spending little time there, she significantly increased the team’s chances of success in the challenging Big 12 Conference. Her guidance improved the team, which led bigger programs to take notice of the Cyclones.

In 2018, Jamie joined the University of Minnesota and began to make a name for herself nationally.
